What it is
A complete walkthrough of Settings (the gear icon) — every option that shapes how SeaVectors looks, reads, and connects. Most settings are covered in depth in their feature modules; this is the one place that lists them all.
Want to tune SeaVectors to your boat, preferred units, chart display, and navigation workflow?
The 30-day free trial includes the complete experience, so you can evaluate SeaVectors with your own routes and equipment before deciding whether to subscribe.

Map Settings
| Setting | Options | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Depth unit | Meters / Feet | Units for all depths (nav bar, soundings, safety depth). |
| Safety depth | 5–50 m slider | Depth areas deeper than this render as open water; the safety contour follows it. Set to your draft + margin. (Module 02) |
| North reference | True / Magnetic | How bearings are expressed. Magnetic uses local declination and falls back to True where it's unknown or on devices without a compass. (Module 04) |
| Sounding text size | S / M / L | Size of the spot‑depth numbers. |
| Bold sounding text | On / Off | Heavier numerals for readability underway. |
| Sounding visibility | Earlier / Default / Later | How soon depth labels appear as you zoom in. |
NMEA Gateway
- Connect to gateway — master on/off. (Module 06)
- Protocol — TCP / UDP.
- Host — gateway IP (TCP only).
- Port — e.g. 10110.

About
- SeaVectors — version and "Developed by Small Technologies Inc."
Tips
- The two "night" ideas are separate: Dark mode (app UI) vs. the Night base style (chart palette). Use both for a night passage.
- Set Depth unit and Safety depth first — they change what the whole chart means for your boat.
- Match North reference to your steering compass so bearings agree.
Troubleshooting
- A setting didn't take effect → Some map settings apply on the chart, not in Settings; back out to the chart to see soundings/safety‑contour changes.
- Can't sign in → Check your connection; account is separate from your Apple ID subscription.
